Summary: For week 2 of MOVE, we focused on the power generosity. Pastor Josh walked us through the steps of the generosity journey from initial giver to consistent giver to intentional giver, generous giver, and extravagant giver. Because of the extravagant sacrifice of Jesus and the promises of Scripture around our money, we are challenged to live and give generously. MOVE is a great opportunity to invest here and now for the eternal rewards to come.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Focus Questions
- Who is the most generous person you know? This could be someone who is financially generous, practically generous, relationally generous, etc. Share more about them.
- Is giving something that comes naturally for you, or is giving something you have to be more intentional about? What makes giving easy for some and more difficult for others?
- Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. In this passage, the author (Apostle Paul) is compares generosity with sowing and harvesting seed. What do you like most about this word picture? Why is it a powerful metaphor for generosity?
- Reread verses 7-8. Some readers misinterpret this passage to mean that God “pays us back” when we give. How do respond to that idea? What is the real “gain” of living out generosity?
- According to verses 12-15, what impact does our generosity have in the lives of others?
- What example are you setting with your giving habits? Is this the example that you want to set? What next step do you need to take toward setting a better example?
