Welcome to Week Eleven of The God Experiment! During these 12-weeks, we are personally testing the extreme nature of God and talking about it with others.  Building on Pastor Josh’s weekend message, we will be unpacking his content and taking it further. Feel free to use this guide or change it to fit the dynamics of your unique huddle. Reminder: While people can journey at their own pace, Monday (March 14) starts Week Eleven of The God Experiment. Pastor Josh will be teaching on the weekends and huddles will be written on this schedule.

Icebreaker: Getting the conversation started.

  1. In your daily readings, do you have any “ah-ha” moments, questions, or challenges to what you’ve been reading? Maybe share something you wrote in the “Seek and Simmer”section for week 10.
  2. Optional: Need something lighter to open your huddle? Try this…Pastor Josh shared a snowboarding crash where he walked away without being injured. Do you (or someone you know) have a similar story?

Focus Questions: Going deeper together.

  1. This weekend, we focused on having a victor (over a victim) mindset. Who do you consider a “victor”? What makes them victorious?
  2. Have you ever struggled with a victim mindset? Share more if comfortable.
  3. Turn to 2 Corinthians 4. (Tip: By now, people in your huddle should be more comfortable reading the Bible to others. Ask a few volunteers to help you read the passage. Want to take it up a level? Pass out pieces of paper. Each with a question listed in Question #4 to normalize what it’s like to lead discussion. )
  4.  Discovery Bible Study questions: (1) What do you like about this passage? (2) What is confusing about this passage? (3) What does this passage say about God? (4) What does this passage say about us? (5) How do we obey this passage? (6) Who else needs to hear this passage?
  5. What do you think Paul meant by the phrase “lose heart”? How does Paul say we keep from losing heart?
  6. Have you ever had to counsel someone else in facing the trials listed in this passage? What truths about God did you find yourself anchoring to?
  7. Reread v.16-18. What unseen thing in the future are you looking forward to that encourages you to endure?

Final Challenge: The resurrection of Jesus is at work in you. Have faith that He is bringing you to life and wants you to experience resurrection power in your life.
