Bonus Reflections from the Biblical Text for Discussion
– Jesus rebuked the disciples for their unbelief (v. 19)
– Unbelief can be cast out by prayer and fasting (v. 29)
– Unbelief can be starved. It needs doubt to survive so cast out the negative narrative going into your head by meditating on the promises of God. (2 Cor 10:5 & Rom 4:20-21)
– Thomas struggled with unbelief when he heard Jesus had risen from the dead BEFORE he had seen Jesus face to face. (John 20:24-29)
– Some apostles still struggled with unbelief AFTER they saw Jesus face to face. So as much as we may grow in Christ, we are always fair game fo
