WANDERERS OR CONQUERORS?

WEEK 2: 4/18/2021

Icebreaker

What was the naughtiest thing you ever did in school?

Recap

Last week we talked about how our story/history can become our stumbling block or our starting block in life. No matter what kind of story you had, it has inevitably started to create in you a sense of your identity. All of us will have to face that story, that identity, and ask, “Is this who God made me to be?”.  Let’s continue to learn about the critical things we need in order to step into our identity as a conqueror.

Scripture Reference

Acts 7:23 – 35

Focus Questions

The Discovery Bible Study (DBS) method uses eight foundational questions meant to encourage, connect, discover, apply, and multiply. Stick with the scripture referenced above. Allow God to speak to you through this specific passage without looking at other books or scripture. This allows for new discoveries to happen!

Connection: Let’s follow up from last week.

  1. How did it go taking your next step in obedience from last week?
  2. What wins did you have this past week?
  3. What wins are you hoping to have this coming week?

Discovery: Let’s dive into today’s scripture (Acts 7:23-35).

  1. What does this teach you about God?
  2. What does this teach you about mankind?
  3. What questions, doubts, or breakthroughs do you have from this scripture?

Apply: Let’s live this scripture out!

  1. How can I apply what I have just learned this week?
  2. Which two people will I share this with?

This Week

Who does God say you are?

What does God say your calling or assignment is?

What excuses can you come up with as to why you should not take a step of faith into what God is calling you to?

How would your life look different if you took a step into the assignment God is calling you to? Does that excite you or scare you?

This week, read the entirety of Acts 7. Think about who God has created you to be; what he created you to do. If you can, read this chapter multiple times throughout the week.

Write out 1 Corinthians 12:14-18. What can we learn about the church from these verses?

Read Ephesians 2:10. God calls us His workmanship or His artwork, from the Greek word poiēma. You are God’s artistic expression. He has already planned what He wants us to do with our lives. We do not need to copy what someone else has done or is doing. He has a unique plan for each of us to serve Him in this world. It is up to each one of us to decide to become the person God has uniquely called us to be. It takes courage. It takes faith. And it starts with you saying, “Yes.” What step can you take this week to step out into who God called you to be?
