The G.O.A.T. – Week 6 DG

What is your most unusual fear?

***For Leaders – It could be heights, change, dogs, winter, etc. – Phil 4:4 says we don’t need to freak out as the Lord is near.

What should our mindset be regarding things that make us anxious/worry? Matthew 6:25

***For Leaders – In Jesus’ day, many people lived day to day.  It was pay check to pay check living.  Your pay check just happen to be on a daily basis.

This is probably the most important question that our hearts need to focus in on today…how valuable are you in God’s eyes?

***For Leaders – How you perceive the answer to that question will determine the level of worry you feel about different things in your life. Matthew 26:6 Jesus leans into nature and how God takes care of nature.  Ends with…aren’t you more valuable than they are?  God is in full provision mode for you right now. Psalm 139:17-18 – God has more good thoughts about you than the grains of sand on the seashore.

What do we accomplish when we worry?

***For Leaders – Worrying comes from calculating without God! It robs you of the quality of life. Matt 6:27 You can exercise faith OR worry, but not both at the same time. Worry is focusing our heart and mind on the worst possible outcome.  Faith is focusing our heart and mind on God’s possible outcome.

Is anyone from your Group willing to share the specific worry they surrendered to God at the end of the service when chose to imagine the promises of God being fulfilled in their life? What did they lay down? What promises did they meditate on in that exchange.
