Welcome to Week Six of The God Experiment! During these 12-weeks, we are personally testing the extreme nature of God and talking about it with others.  Building on Pastor Josh’s weekend message, we will be unpacking his content and taking it further. Feel free to use this guide or change it to fit the dynamics of your unique huddle. Reminder: While people can journey at their own pace, Monday (February) starts Week Six of The God Experiment. Pastor Josh will be teaching on the weekends and huddles will be written on this schedule.

Icebreaker: Getting the conversation started.

  1. In your daily readings, do you have any “ah-ha” moments, questions, or challenges to what you’ve been reading? Maybe share something you wrote in the “Seek and Simmer”section for this week – pages 119.
  2. Optional: Need something lighter to open your huddle? Try this…What is a movie or show you never get tired of watching?

Focus Questions: Going deeper together.

  1. On Sunday, we talked about royalty – Jesus enthroned as King and that we have access to that same authority in our circumstances. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word royalty?
  2. Pastor Josh said, “We are meant to think and act like royalty. This is not a kingdom that we belong to someday but a kingdom we belong to today.” What makes this belief challenging for us to fully experience?
  3. Turn to Ephesians 1. Ask a volunteer or two to help read the chapter. (Tip: Prompt a question from #3 to be thinking about as you read.)
  4.  (Optional – Discovery Bible Study questions) Any word or phrase stand out most in this passage? What does this passage say about God? What does it say about us?
  5. Based on this passage, what privileges or gifts do we gain when we put our faith in Jesus?
  6. In verses 13-14, Paul mentions that we are sealed. What are we sealed with? How does this impact your life as a follower of Jesus?
  7. Reread verse 18-21. Paul prays a blessing over the people of Ephesus that they would know hope, inheritance, and power found in Jesus. What would you say you need most from God today? (Tip: Your huddles answers to this questions could easily be your prayer requests.)

Final Challenge: A reminder of Pastor Josh’s challenge this weekend…Think and act like royalty so that the watching world can see God’s riches and His grace.

Close by praying for one another and gathering names/contact information for your weekly report.
